LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY

"A Key Ingredient to Harmony, Balance and Mastery Is A Spirit of Team and Trust Between Technician and Dentist."

Dentistry is a blending of skills and talents of many individuals, not just the dentist.  The doctor is highly dependant on quality oriented laboratory technicians who have extraordinary talent and abilities to make the restorations come to life and real for the patient.

Mike Milne is my certified dental laboratory technician. He and his team of experts pay close attention to detail as a key ingredient to our aesthetic and reconstruction success.

The meticulous attention to customized internal layered porcelain sculpturing, color blending, and surface texturing is what makes our dentistry outstanding.

Laboratory technology is an aspect of dentistry which brings the concepts of smile design and management of each patients bite into the realm of architecture.  Precision molding, modeling, shaping and creating forms by hand- skill coordination (shapes that did not exist before) with specialized dental materials takes "artistry" and engineering to make the customized restorations necessary for each individual  patient.  This hidden talent of the dedicated laboratory technician comes to life because of the passion they have in their heart and hands.

Shading and color is used to individualize the ceramic crowns.

Dr. Chan works together with his group of highly trained laboratory technicians who are an integral apart of his team of skilled professionals.  These talented individuals are key people who make the art of aesthetic dentistry to life and real to the patient.

ARCHITECTING AND DESIGNING

ANATOMICAL WAXING

Taylor Milne, world class anatomical waxer makes teeth come to life.

A key point to establishing "reproducible" contacts, especially with full mouth cases, is to establish neuromuscular balance of all entities as it relates to the trigeminal system (teeth, muscles and joints).

Precision ceramics is an art form of technology and experience.

Pressing the ceramic porcelain

The wax crown forms are sprued, invested and heated to high a temperature to remove the melted wax.  At high temperatures the ceramic ingots are melted and injected at high pressures into the vacant mold.  The heated ceramic ingot is pressed and cast into the invested crown mold.  After the mold cools the stone investment is removed.

Appreciation to Mike Milne, CDT and his team for their talent and skill that makes dentistry worthwhile.  Bringing value, quality, acceptance and a smile from our patients worthwhile.
